Mississippi Department of Corrections Teams Up With Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Mississippi To Launch Public Service Announcement Campaign

"Be Smart, Choose Freedom" is a series of public service announcements produced by the Mississippi Department of Corrections.  This is part of the agency's efforts to help improve the quality of life for Mississippi families by discouraging young, at-risk youth from becoming criminal offenders.  This is a proactive approach in crime prevention.

Commissioner Chris Epps joined Billy Redd, President/CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Mississippi and Daryl Neely representing Governor Barbour at the Capitol Unit Teen Center for the press conference.  To view these public service announcements follow the link:

Club Members Get Health Screenings Through St. Dominic Car-A-Van Program

Again this year, Club members at all six units of the  Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Mississippi will get free health screenings through the St. Dominic Car-A-Van Program.  Children have their vision, hearing, blood pressure, teeth, ears and more checked.  St. Dominic employees who volunteer on their day off staff the Car-A-Van.   Our thanks to St. Dominic and the Car-A-Van staff and volunteers for their dedication to continuing this program for our Club members each year.
